This is an awesome community folks. I was able to get enough people to respond to this thread and the NPR reporter was surprised and very happy that we could do this even on a weekend.

what would be the likely effect of this ?
The purpose behind this move is to make the process more efficient and to reduce fraud by having each service center specialize in processing a particular form. But if the BECs are anything to go by, I will be surprised if this doesn't make things worse.

Don't be so harsh Kumar. This whole process is so troublesome and some times illogical, you get all kinds of doubts, especially when you are working with a short time line. (S)He did not mention getting a green card for them but going through medicals.

Unfortunately , it is true. I personally know a friend whose I-485 was denied even without issuing any NOID or RFE. Reason, well its very obvious, the underlying I-140 was revoked, even though it was past 180 days. By law, your supposed to get NOID or RFE. but some IOs are ignorant and do not know the AC21 laws properly. So they issue straight denial. The number of cases are few because not many companies revoke I-140 past 180 days. But few companies do and some have to do it. So in these situation yes, chances are that you will get a straight denial and that is why there is thread to lobby efforts to raise some concerns to Ombudsman about these erroneous denials.

I though it would be a good idea to start consolidating all the RFE's, so that people would have one thread to look at if at all there is any RFE
Note: If there is already a thread, admins please delete this thread
1. RFE on current employment and offer of proposed employment (description of position) and offered salary
2. Current address proof
3. Missing G325-A need to submit one (but I did send them initially)
4. Evidence that you maintained non immigrant status from the date of first entry till the date you filed your I 485

Maybe USCIS would earn more income by telling the illegal immigrants to file EAD/I-485/Biometics every year etc.. Immigration attroneys would earn good money by replying to RFEs for 12 million immigrants. Getting this 12 million illegal immigrants legalized will surely improve the economy.

I have my I-140 approved and have a 2 year EAD. I work as a project manager for a financial firm. I am in EB3 India quota. I currently work on H1B.
In case of a job loss what are my options? By that I mean what kind of jobs should I look for on AC21. Also, can you switch multiple employers on AC21.
Pl advise.
Can I have a hiatus between losing job and getting a new one on AC21 or I need to have an offer in hand before using AC21.

Hi All,
I am new to this forum. My husband is working for a desi consulting company and they also filed for my h1. Now my hubby is planning to move out.
When my hubby moves out they might bargain using my h1 approval.
They havent given me a copy of the H1b approval. Could some one tell me the reasons to get the I-797 copy from the consultant?Once I get it I would like to transfer to some good company.
I heard that there is a I-824 form requesting copy when the actual approval notice is lost. Can I file for that and it seems it takes 6 months to get the actual copy.
Does the info pass help here ?

Supposedly there is the AC21 form, is there an example how this form should be filled, and what other documents should be included? How long does it take to approve? (for driver's license, traveling, etc.). Does it have to be filed with H1B extension?
The new job offer is 25% pay increase, otherwise very similar, could that be a problem?

It can be corrected. You employer need to change your base pay to 5500 from mar and it will get paid as regular salary. It should not have to be bonus. Don't worry talk to your employer and its a simple and common adjustment.

In the field I94# and expiration I entered I 94 number which is on the white card on the passport and it is the same as the number on my renewed h1 papers.However I entered expiry date from the i94 on the passport,which is oct06 instead of the 010 date in the renewal.
will that be a problem..? CAN I CORRECT IT AFTER I get the reciept no or will thay be able to verify with the latest h1 paper that i94 is valid

Hello,
Last week i received RFE for my wife's father's name. The name on birth certificate is different from school leaving & other docs. I'm trying to get it corrected from Mumbai.
I beleive if i get a correct one matching with other docs, i should be ok.
Another issue, i have is i have rented an apartment under my name close to my work in the same state. All my docs have my home address, my question is will it affect my case if they find another address under my name?? I still have official address as my home everywhere...
