Recently my employer has decreased the hourly rate given for many years in the pay stub but providing the difference as bonus. Will it affect my EB2 Classification and I-485 approval.
How Much is the difference and what status are you on ? EAD or still on H1B

Just to be clear - where were you born? India or Britain? You can be a British citizen, but if you were not born there, you are counted under the chargeable area of India, not ROW.
There really is no "priveledge" that you will recieve, if you were born in the UK. As Roseball mentions, if you are ROW and can file EB2, your dates would be current when it comes time to apply for I145. If you file EB3, you'll be (currently) stuck in Retrogression at I145 stage.
FWIW - you need to maintain status in the US to retain your greencard.

Hi,
I am not sure that you can help me in this or not, but I see you are pretty aware of the program I wants to ask about MAVNI..
 I am on H1B (exp- 2011) Wife/Son h4(Exp-2011)
 Joining MAVNI Sep 2009.
F1 to H1 (Stamping Pending yet)
I have couple simple questions if you can help me to give answer.
1.As I will be in army training and they will adjust my status, but what will happen to my wife/son if they will be USA and their H4 want work as I want be no more on H1. And what will be their status during this time.
2.What if I send them back to my origin country and after coming back from training/naturalization how much time you see it may take? Do you see any difficulty reentering them? What will be their status, once they reenter?
About my background, none of us has any single criminal history except couple speeding ticket. :)
I appreciate if you can through some light in this, which will help me to take faster decision for their accommodation and all.
Thankful to you.

This has been discussed in so many threads
Once you change to AOS and invoke AC21 after 6 months, you can choose to do nothing or even be without a job. The only thing thats important is that the job offer should be available at the time of 485 adjucation.

Please read what the event is about. It is NOT about people asking questions on issues. It is about "How can Congress effectively use Facebook". :)
No...he is going to talk about that. But, we can submit any question we want him to answer. I am in their email mailing list, the invitation explains it better than the facebook page :)

The American Competitiveness and Workforce Improvement Act (ACWIA), imposes annual reporting requirements on U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) concerning the countries of origin and occupations of, educational levels attained by, and compensation paid to, aliens who were issued visas or otherwise provided nonimmigrant status under H1B Visas (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html) during the previous fiscal year.
Here are some highlights from the report submitted by USCIS earlier this year:
The number of H-l B petitions (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html) filed decreased 15 percent from 288,764 in Fiscal Year
2008 to 246,647 in Fiscal Year 2009.
The number of H1B petitions approved decreased 22 percent from 276,252 in Fiscal
Year 2008 to 214,271 in Fiscal Year 2009.
Approximately 48 percent of all H1B petitions approved in Fiscal Year 2009 were for
workers born in India.
Two-thirds of H1B petitions approved in Fiscal Year 2009 were for workers between the
ages of25 and 34.
Forty-one percent of H1B petitions approved in Fiscal Year 2009 were for workers with
a bachelor's degree, 40 percent had a master's degree, 13 percent had a doctorate, and 6
percent were for workers with a professional degree.
About 41 percent of H1B petitions approved in Fiscal Year 2009 were for workers in
computer-related occupations.
The median salary of beneficiaries of approved petitions increased to $64,000 in Fiscal
Year 2009, $4,000 more than in Fiscal Year 2008.
Pretty interesting information, we hope that things will improve as our economy continues to recover.

Hi,
I am on H1b visa and it is expiring in sep 2009 in 2 months. I need some information incase i dont get a project in mean time. I already got RFE for the extension.
Is it better to convert to H4 visa? How much it costs? and how long it takes to convert? Also do we get any kinds of problems in converting to h4 visa?
Also if we converted to h4 visa, can we easily get f1 visa if we want to study later or can we go back to h1b from h4 visa.? what all things are required.
Please let me know.
Thanks in advance!!

Sorry, I don't see anything wrong with this. Further it would have taken just a minute of the congress's time to pass this resolution.

Can someone tell me what is a good lawyer??? I think this term is very much like good politician.. They are extinct...
If someone using company lawyer to file I-485 and other forms, ask this lawyer will he send receipt notices to the applicant or not. Some will get answer that it's company policy not to sent anything to applicants  .

Samething happened to me. On 11/25/2007 i saw a LUD on my approved I-140 (which was approved in Dec, 2006). And then LUD on 12/06/2007 and 12/07/2007 on I-485 for both self and spouse.
Not sure what it could be?? I filed I-485/EAD/AP in late July, 2007. Have received EAD and have done finger printing. Have not received AP yet. Filing Center in Nebraska. My PD is October, 2005, EB3 ROW.

Thanks for the post. I did a search and I got some results. Looking at the results and the name of the site I felt there is a typo in the name.
It should have been stalejobs.com instead of scalejobs.com. If you are remotely associated with the site here is my disclaimer:
I'm not a judge so please do not take my judgement seriously. No offense nor pun is intended in my post.
I came across a good job website and it looks like lot of interesting features than todays job sites.

Hi,
I got a card production email on 6/25, got the 485 approval notice in the mail on 6/27 but haven't received the card yet as of today, 7/1. Anyone seen this sort of long delay in getting the card?
Thanks,
Kunal
Call USCIS and verify your address. Have you moved receently - sometimes your AR11 change of address may not have been recorded on your case.
I am sure, you will get it anytime.
BTW - CONGRATULATIONS

In september my dates became current and my GC and my spouse GC has been approved . However my lawyer recieved interview notices for me and my wife. What should be the next step. Ignore the notices as we recieved the Green card or do we need to attend the interview.
